I have always found trees magical and spiritual; they have an energy that helps me to relax and feel at peace. They also inspire me to create images from their shapes and form, especially the bark. I am often inspired on walks around my local area, this work was inspired on a walk around the famous Jephson Gardens of Leamington Spa where I live. It not only contains inspiration from a tree but also from the Aviary Coffee Shop and folk who were visiting the gardens like myself that day. It’s a type of work style I call responsive to the environment around me.
