Baskery Delight At Temperance
Thursday 30th October
It was so lovely to meet the three sisters of Baskery, whom hail from Sweden. Their music was listed as Banjo Punk, I had no idea what to expect, so a little listen to Spotify prior to their performance is all what i needed to confirm I would create from their gig at my beloved Temperance Bar.
I’m so glad I attended, even with the leads vocals abruptly failing on he night and a loss of voice, they smashed it. The sisters were able to navigate around the loss of what most would consider fundamental to perform, they took it in their stride and navigated around it like true pros, to ensure the gig continued.
I was able to chat with the sisters prior to the night and they told me information about their names and I was then inspired to create from this an Art work of each sister representing the Sun, Stars and Moon. I also asked what song they would like me to create from and did this creating a total of 4 A3 paintings on the night over 2 hours. Man am I’m getting fast at this.
True Strays with Demi Mariner at Temperance
28th October 2025
What a band and what a night. I happily write here and declare that tonight’s music was one of the best nights I have ever had, not only at Temperance but across all venues and gigs I have attended. The songs, music deliverance and style were all up my street and I was so glad to be there to create paintings on the night.
I created a live response canvas from the True Strays band and two watercolours from my good friend Demi Mariner who was there as support and also joined the band to add a third harmony.
Bloody brilliant. Do check out this band and Demi Mariner, you dont want to miss out!
Thomas Heppell at Temperance
Saturday 25th of October
Thomas Heppell and his band played to a sell out Audience at Temperance bar on Bath Street in Royal Leamington Spa Tonight.
The Music was energetic and thought provoking, delivered with some awesome guitar playing and insights to the songs and history behind them.
It was a pleasure and delight to create a live action Canvas painting that focused on Thomas Heppell and aspects of some songs combined with the sensation and emotions that they evoked in my creative brain. I also had time to create a smaller painting on paper in the second half to an amazing night of music, capturing his Base player and Drummer, two fantastic musicians and people Im glad to have met and chat with. I look forward to create more from Thomas in the future.
An added delight that Thomas reserved the art work on the Night of himself on Canvas.
The Challenge
Friday 24th October
I will be attending and creating live art works for the first time, from this year’s The Challenge, hosted at Marshall Studios in Milton Keynes by the UK Blues Federation. Acts include Laura Evans, Trevor Baberjack Steger Trio, Emma Wilson, Kirris Riviere and the Delta Du Bruit and Zoe Swartz Blue Commotion.
I intend to capture the musicians and the energy of their music and songs and then complete these after the event in my studio space and add them to my ever growing portfolio of works created and inspired by live Music, especially the Blues.
More to follow…..

Brave Rival EP Launch in London at the 100 Club
Wednesday 15th October
It was a dream come true for me to be creating on the spot responsive art works to Brave Rival and their Ep Launch held at the Iconic 100 Club, located on Oxford Street in London. I was on the guest list and invited there by the band, who have become steadfast friends over the past few years. Demi Mariner was also there and was the opening support act. The 100 Club has had so many prestigious musicians over the years including The Who, The Kinks, Muddy Waters, the Sex Pistols, The Clash, Blur and many more!
I arrived at the 100 Club with art supplies and stretcher bars for canvas. Ready to create from the music and artists performance. I was able to set up on the stage next to the main performance and this gave me an amazing view of the performances and crowd that were totally ecstatic and spellbound by Brave Rival and Demi equally. I created Two art works in near darkness and the lights flashing developed the overall character and story behind each piece.
A massive thank you to Brave Rival for this opportunity and also a massive shout out to Solid Entertainments and the 100 Club for a brilliant night of music and entertainment. It was an absolute pleasure to add to the night and create from such brilliant songs and music.
Watch this space as there will be many more upcoming events and gigs that I will be creating from. Very exciting times indeed.
Rachel Croft Band at Joe joe Jim’s
Sunday 11th October
After painting from Rachel’s live performance at Temperance I wanted to capture more art work inspired by this amazing and talented musician and it was an absolute great venue to do so on her last performance on her UK Tour. Rachel Croft's music is powerful and instantly recognizable. Each song has a great energy and the lyrics are appreciated by so many of her fans, many of whom were present at that night's gig.
I loved Joe Joe Jim’s, what a great venue. I can’t wait to return and create from many more acts. The décor alone was a massive inspiration to some of the art works that I created on the night, from Rachel and her band.
Rachel Croft Wow’s at Temperance
Sunday 5th October
I have been following Rachel Croft and her music through social media for some time, I like many others have fallen in love with her music and lyrics, The energy and performance that she puts into her song writing, music career and art too, is simply inspirational.
It was an absolute delight to paint live at her performance at my favourite local venue, directly on to canvas and get a pic with this superb musician who smashed it on the night! What a rush!
I booked my tickets that night to see her again at Joe Joe Jim’s on the last stop of her UK tour.
Not only was it great to meet Rachel in person but also her band and devoted fans that follow her around the country, Rachel has a great personality and its not hard to see that she really appreciates not only her music but also the music lovers in her life. Great to meet you Rachel in person.
