New Art Work
Monday 14th December 2025
The Benjamin Stachwell, Weatherspoon's located on the Parade of Royal Leamington Spa, My Local continues to be a great place to create art and be inspired by the Staff, locals and students that use this busy and thriving pub. The energy, colour and ideas that I have incorporated into several new works is astounding.
Its great to have a place that you are made to feel welcome and part of a community, All the staff and Manager have really made me feel settled and able to create while enjoying meals and drinks throughout the day.
In particular I have been inspired by shift manager Issy, whom so far I have a total of five art works in various states of completion. She has become a muse that inspires my creative output for sure, her choice of clothing and finesse in applying makeup add to her natural beauty and perfect balanced facial features. An artists dream subject matter to work from and celebrate through Image creating. Like all the members of staff and management team, Issy displays professionalism with friendliness and adds to her charm that enriches this artists creative imagination and output.
This piece that Issy is presenting is inspired by her clothing and posturer while working, along with a stylised fir tree that came from a completely different source, I was actually watching a documentary the night before about Prince on TV and the Symbol that he went as for a period heavily influenced the tree. Issy’s clothing and the Autumn period I started it in were the bedrock of colours chosen for the painting.
Creativity and inspiration aint the Benjamin Satchwell I’m sure will continue and I imagine Issy will inspire many more more art works in the near future!
Ellie Gowers, Live in Kenilworth
Friday 5th of December
Always a great night to listen too my good friend Ellie Gowers. Such a beautiful singer and songwriter, her music and performance are always a delight to experience and create from. This time the surroundings added to the music, vocals and the inspiration of the art itself, Abbey Hill United Reform Church is a such a beautiful and inspiring building, the evening was a true spiritual and musical experience that I and so many others enjoyed!
Ellie was fantastic in her stage presence and really captivated the audience with her presenting skills, adding interesting stories and information about her music and inspiration behind several songs and the journey that led to there creation.
